At Sky Suites, we are entirely focused on the experience of our residents, and our priority is always your health and safety. In light of the evolving COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation, we are closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization’s statements and are adhering to the latest information, protocols and tools offered by these authorities. Sky Suites has heightened our already stringent cleaning and disinfection practices and have added supplemental disinfection measures to help keep our residences safe and inviting for all.
Cleaning Products and Protocols:
We take standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously and are taking additional steps to ensure the safety of our guests and residences. Our properties are cleaned before and after every stay using disinfection products and protocols which are effective against viruses, with particular attention paid to high-touch items. The frequency of cleaning and disinfecting in public spaces has been increased, with a focus on elevators and elevator buttons, door handles, and room keys. In addition, Sky Suites is now supplementing our rigorous deep cleaning procedures by the addition of two disinfection technologies:
Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI / UV-C)
Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI) is a safe and proven disinfection method for killing all bacteria and viruses. UVGI systems are used by medical facilities to sanitize everything from operating rooms to surgical equipment. The process bathes a room in short-wavelength ultraviolet light to kill microorganisms by destroying their nucleic acids and breaking apart their DNA, thus preventing them from being able to function or reproduce. Traditional liquid anti-bacterial detergents are sprayed on non-porous surfaces, where they remain for several minutes before being wiped down in order for disinfection to occur. By supplementing this procedure with ultraviolet germicidal irradiation, the entire interior of the residence is exposed to high-powered UV-C light, thereby disinfecting all surfaces including upholstery, walls, ceilings, linens, and even airborne particles. This procedure is performed both before and after every reservation for a full hour.
HIGH-EFFICIENCY PARTICULATE AIR FILTERS (HEPA)
In addition, all Sky Suites residences are now equipped with medical-grade High-Efficiency Particulate Air Filters (HEPA), capturing at least 99.97% of particles whose diameter is equal to 0.3 microns. HEPA filters are critical in preventing the spread of airborne bacterial and viral organisms, and therefore infection. Combined with the use of high-energy ultraviolet light, live bacteria and viruses trapped by HEPA filters are immediately destroyed, assuring a very high level of protection against airborne disease transmission.
While Sky Suites is doing all we can to ensure a safe and clean environment, we must also ask that residents closely evaluate their own health and take seriously their responsibility to seek medical attention if they are at all close to feeling ill in any way. We encourage you to learn more about what you can do to travel safer. The World Health Organization has several recommendations to reduce exposure to a range of illnesses, including hand and respiratory hygiene as well as safe food practices.
