Sky Suites is located in Toronto’s charming and elegant Yorkville neighbourhood. Internationally recognized as Downtown Toronto’s most exclusive district, this vibrant and historic enclave offers the perfect launching pad for accessing the four corners of the city as well as exclusive local shops, eateries and service providers.
At the heart of Yorkville is a 19th-century village paved with cobblestone streets, lined with high-end boutiques and galleries nestled in historic low-rise buildings. The neighbourhood straddles two subway lines and three major thoroughfares, including the iconic stretch of Bloor Street known as the Mink Mile.

Shopping
The Mink Mile is the moniker given to the exclusive section of Bloor Street where Sky Suites Yorkville is located. While Bloor stretches 25 kilometres from east to west, the portion that runs through Yorkville — once a hippy hangout — features the most high-end boutiques and gourmet restaurants. Forbes Magazine named it the third most prestigious shopping street in North America, compared to New York’s Fifth Avenue, Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, and Los Angeles’ Rodeo Drive. From local brands to international icons, you’ll find the best of everything along and around the Mink Mile.
For commonly needed daily items, head to the Hudson’s Bay department store and the shopping centre in which it’s located, right across the street from Sky Suites Yorkville. Here you’ll find a pharmacy, doctor, dry cleaner, business centre, liquor store, everyday clothing and more.
Groceries
All our suites are equipped with a full kitchen and all of the dishware, tools and utensils for making standout meals or simple snacks. You may not want to cook every day, but having groceries on hand can make mealtime healthier and more convenient.
As expected in a premier Toronto neighbourhood, Sky Suites Yorkville is within walking distance of several gourmet grocery stores, where you can find fresh produce, meats and cheeses, baked goods and groceries. The Market by Longo’s is directly across the street and offers organic produce, a curated selection of groceries and a wide array of fresh take-out options. Pusateri’s Fine Foods offers some of the city’s best prepared fare plus excellent produce, meats, seafood, and excellent service and nearby Whole Foods is famous for its organic foods and planet-healthy options.
Right next door to Sky Suites Yorkville is McEwan Yonge & Bloor, a chef-led food hall with all-day café, butcher, bakery, sandwich station and sushi bar. The Manulife Centre, one block west of Sky Suites, is home to NYC-based Eataly, an upscale Italian food hall and restaurant.
For night-owls and holiday shoppers, Rabba Fine Foods is just a minute walk away and is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Yorkville is home to some of Canada’s top restaurants, including pedigreed eateries and innovative culinary newcomers. Don’t be surprised if you catch a glimpse of local and international celebs dining in their preferred locales!
If you’re craving French fare, head to Café Boulud, located in the posh Four Seasons hotel, and for Italian, check out Buca Osteria and Bar. Seafood lovers flock to Joso’s, a much-loved institution with an upscale family vibe and fresh-from-the-ocean options. Gastropub The Oxley offers sumptuous seating downstairs, a casual upstairs and two patios, while Planta proves that a vegan restaurant can be sophisticated and gorgeous while serving healthy, inventive and delectable dishes

Getting Around
TAXI / UBER
Taxis are a reliable and efficient way of getting around Toronto. The major taxi companies are Beck Taxi, Co-op Cabs and Diamond Taxi. Ride-sharing services are also popular and convenient for travel in and around Toronto.
PUBLIC TRANSIT
Sky Suites Yorkville is ideally situated for travel on the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). Toronto’s central subway station is just next door, allowing you to travel anywhere in the city. Cash fare for all TTC vehicles is $3.25 for adults, $2.20 for youth (ages 13-19) and seniors (65+), and free for children 12.
BIKE
Toronto is a very bikeable city, boasting dedicated bike paths on many main streets and plenty of people who regularly make biking part of their commute or leisure activity. Renting a bike from Bike Share Toronto is easy and inexpensive, and there is a pick-up and drop-off location right next door!
WALKING
With wide sidewalks, shady trees and beautiful boutiques for window shopping, walking is one of the best ways to get around Yorkville. The neighbourhood is considered the safest and cleanest area in the city, featuring benches for enjoying a coffee or an ice cream, alleyways to explore and an award-winning park with a 700-ton granite rock imported from the Muskoka region.
